Not sure about whether you want to go on an active adventure or sightseeing tour? Well, why not do both in one expedition? Our combo adventures offer a combination of some activities in the mountains and visiting some local attractions.
A short distance trouble-free trek running corresponding to the lofty Himalayas. Good views all the way, beautiful and remarkable camping by the lake at Devariyatal and some great forests. The views from the peak of Chandrashilla will stay in ones memory for really long.
Added to this are whitewater rafting trips at thrilling levels on the river Ganges. We raft 36 km from Kaudiyala to Rishikesh.
Day 00: Delhi to Haridwar (330m).
Board the overnight train from Delhi to be in Rishikesh in the early hours morning next day.
Day 01: Drive Rishikesh - Sari and trek to Devariyatal (2440m) 5-6 hrs drive and 2 hrs walk.
Drive up to Sari, breakfast on the trip. The road goes along the river Alaknanda earlier than entering the Mandakini valley. It’s a gradual mounting all the way up to the attractive lake of Devariyatal.
Day 02: Trek Devariyatal - Chopta (3000m) 6-7 hrs
The trail goes through the dark forest and stays on the ridge all the way to Tali. From here we descend for a while to cross a stream and then climb-up slowly to reach Chopta, situated in a peaceful setting having beautiful meadows and are surrounded by dark forests.
Day 03: Trek Chopta - Tungnath (3680m) - Chandrashilla Top (4130m) - Chopta and drive to camp elephant brook 4-5 hrs treks and 5 hrs drives.
Begin early in the morning and climb-up to the beautiful temple of Tungnath and further than. Tungnath, one of the Shiva ancient temples is the highest temple in Garhwal and has definitely a certain mystical or religious aspect which is quite based on the spectacular surrounding and views from there. Visions which go far beyond the simple views of mountains.
The summit of the Chandrashilla peak provides a magnificent 360 degree vision.
Drive 5 hrs to reach Camp elephant brook in the evening. Evening campfire and overnight camp
Day 04: Raft Camp elephant brook – Rishikesh
After breakfast, get into rafting gear, safety briefing and raft down big volume Ganga whitewater. Raft down rapids are cliff jump, Bodysurfing, Golf Course and lots more. We finish the tour near Laxman Jhula. Walking Tour 30 minutes back to Camp for hot lunch. Afternoon kayaking, volleyball or hike to a nearby village. Campfire or barbecue dinner and overnight Camp.
Day 05: Raft Kaudiyala - Camp Elephant brook
After breakfast, drive to Kaudiyala. Board rafts and raft down the two big rapids on this section, the Daniels Dip and The Wall. Lots of bodysurfing and float into Camp for hot lunch. Transfer to Haridwar to board the evening Shatabdi to be back in Delhi by 10:45 pm.
