This trek provides you with one of the rarest view of the entire range of Yamnotri- Gangotri- Kedarnath- Badrinath mountain peaks. In the process you pass through the seven Bugyals of Panwali Kantha, Where if you are lucky, You might catch a glimpse of blue mountain goat. This trek is part of the ancient pilgrim trail from Gangotri to Kedarnath, in the tradition of Vamavrta Yatra that began from Yamnotri and ended at Badrinath, after paying respect at the Gangotri and Kedarnath shrines.

Panwali Kantha Trek Uttarakhand Himalaya

Garhwal Region holds an important place in the Hindu mythology being called the “DevBhoomi”. The whole land of Garhwal is always alive and vibrates with the music of chiming bells, bathing people at various Ghats, chanting of Hymns, song of local folks during festivals and fairs.

This trek goes through the lower valley having lush green meadows and forests. This is also the route between Kedarnath and Gangotri. The valley beholds scenic beauty of the surrounding Garhwal Himalayas and green pasture meadows where sheep grazes around lazily. The trek goes around Panwali Kanta Dhar which gives breathtaking panoramic views of the Garhwal Himalayan Peaks like Thalaysagar (6904 mtrs) and Chaukhamba (7138 mtrs). Its a paradise for the nature lovers and for those who seek adventure in climbing these majestic peaks. Overall this trek takes you to the natural beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas and the ancient mythological values from the hustle bustle of the city.



Day Itnery

  • Day 01 : RISHIKESH / UTTRAKASHI DRIVE 7-8 HOURS

    Morning after breakfast drive to Uttrakashi(1160Mt). Lunch enroute. On the way stop at zero point to see the view of Tehri-Jheel. Later drive to Uttrakashi and check in guest house. Remaining day to relax to acclimatize. Meals and overnight guest house.
  • Day 02 : UTTRAKASHI / MALLA / BELAK TREK 6-7 HOURS OVERNIGHT CAMP

    After breakfast leave (22 km drive, 15 km of trek) for Mala by road. Arrive Mala and prepare to go for the trek. Start the ordeal with mountains and climb to Belak at 2420 mts. Overnight at Camp.
  • Day 03 : BELAK / JHALA TREK 5-6 HOURS

    After breakfast start the day (09 km trek, 5-6 hrs) on a ridge and reach Jhala in the afternoon. Enjoy the beautiful views through the day and camp overnight.
  • Day 04 : JHALA / BUDHAKEDAR TREK 5-6 HOURS

    After breakfast start trek (08 km, 4-5 hrs) with descent from 2440 mts to 1525 mts. To Budhakedar (one of the five Shiva temples). Overnight at camp .
  • Day 05 : BUDHAKEDAR / BHARAVCHATTI TREK 5-6 HOURS

    After breakfast start (16 km trek, 7-8 hrs) an even trek through the valley to reach Bharavchatti at 1525 mts. in the afternoon. Relax in the evening. Meals and overnight camp.
  • Day 06 : BHARAVCHATTI / GHUTTU TREK 5-6 HOURS

    After breakfast start your trek to Ghuttu, arrival Ghuttu and camp, meals and overnight stay camp.
  • Day 07 : GHUTTU / PANWALI KANTHA TREK 7-8 HOURS

    Morning after breakfast trek to Panwali kantha (3750Mt), Today trek is one of the longest and highest point during this trek, which is a very beautiful expanse of meadows along with breathtaking view of high snow peaks in the north, evening reach Panwali and camp. Meals and overnight stay camp.
  • Day 08 : PANWALIKANTHA / MAGHUCHATTI TREK 5-6 HOURS

    This day the trek (11 km trek, 4-5 hrs) is again an almost even trek on the ridge for around 06 hrs. Nice views and cool weather is the order of the day .Meals and Overnight at camp.
  • Day 09 : MAGHUCHATTI / TRIJUGINARAYAN / GAURIKUND TREK 5-6 HOURS

    Today come down to less than 2000 mts to Trijuginarayan for more moderate climate and relax a bit in nice surroundings and then transfer to Camp resort / Tourist rest house at Gaurikund. Overnight at camp.
  • Day 10 : GAURIKUND / KEDARNATH TREK 5-6 HOURS

    After breakfast leave for Kedarnath (3581Mt) to reach by afternoon on a nice cobbled path. Its a famous pilgrims trail. On arrival visit the Temple in the evening and then relax meals and overnight at tourist rest house.
  • Day 11 : KEDARNATH / SIYALSAUR

    Morning trek back to Gaurikund. On arrival drive to Siyalsaur and check in to camp resort or tourist rest house. Meals and overnight at camp.
  • Day 12 : SIYALSAUR / RISHIKESH DRIVE 6-7 HOURS

    After breakfast leave (171 kms drive) for Rishikesh to reach by lunch. Tour terminates upon arrival at Rishikesh.
